Do we need to do anything before arrival?

If you are travelling by car, please give us a call as you are leaving the motorway at the Dornbirm Nord exit towards Bregenzerwald and we'll be on site to meet you or, if it is late, we'll leave the key in a safe place for you.

Can I get there on public transport?

If you come by bus, we offer a shuttle service from the bus stop in Mellau.

Where can I buy food?

There is a bakery and a grocery store less than three minutes' walk away. Some farmers sell their products directly to the public at their farms. Please ask on arrival.

How long does it take to reach the ski area?

By bus, the valley station is only a few minutes from Islen.

Where can I rent skis, ski boots or bicycles?

In Mellau, there are two well stocked sports shops, which rent winter equipment and bicycles for the warmer seasons.

How can I find a qualified cycling or hiking guide?

What kind of outdoor activities can I do?

Lutz Schmelzinger and Manfred Find organise outdoor activities from canoeing to high ropes courses and caving. Please visit their website at www.aktiv-zentrum.at for current offers.

Can I learn to ski in the area? 

Learning to ski is fun in Mellau with skiing and snowboarding lessons for people of every age and expertise, in group classes or with a private instructor. The ski and snowboarding school is managed by David Simma www.skischule-mellau.at

Is there a free ski bus service?

A ski bus stop is two minutes away (on foot). It is free of charge.
